Hi, I’m Tommie Brock (AKA) Zgang born and raised on the southside of Chicago. I got my first hustle while living in the Harold Ikes Housing Project on the low end. I was suppose to be a acrobat, I use to tumble with the Jesse White Tumblers, I was six years old flipping and making money at The Taste of Chicago and a lot of other events in the Chi, freelancing.
I had a love for hip hop at a very early age and it redirected my life. Music became my mantra
I lived and breathed hip hop, I was in the studio before I went to high school it seemed as though music was my calling. I started writing music and performing at age 14. It became a way of life for me as far as keeping me out of gangs and drugs, in a way it grounded me.
I struggled a very long time as far getting my brand off the ground; the hustle and bustle of recordings, labels and being heard on different radio stations but the accolades were great in helping with the brand.
At the age of 18 I lost
someone near and dear to my heart, he was my main rap buddy, gunned down in some senseless gang violence. I have seen them come and go, more going than coming. I became a father the very same month, my friend never got a chance to see my kid.
Those were what I look back at as my “Wonder Years”
In 2019 I was in horrific car accident, struck by a tow truck coming from a video shoot. My car was totaled. I was taken to the hospital with extensive injuries, I had glass in my eyes that had to be surgically removed and my leg was broken with the kneecap shattered which also required surgery. I was incappacitated for about six months but the fighter in me wouldn't let me stay down. I made the comeback of a lifetime, for some 2020 was their worst
Year but for me 2020 was my breakout year “I started my record label”.
My first hit off my label was Called “Slide Wit Me” featuring Aj2 we also shot a video with it and from then on we just kept them coming. I was finally getting the recognition that my brand needed, so far I’ve made many investments, I have a clothing line under the name of Polar Bear Clothing and I helped my lady start her line under my brand.
2021 is going to be a great year for me and hip hop I’m rising like a phoenix soaring straight to the top and if they haven’t stopped me yet it’s gonna be just like my daddy’s favorite song may he rest in peace...Ain’t No Stopping Us Now!
